The logs have been (somewhat) un-jammed

Recliners handle Invalids, Packers stop Gerbils advance as the league's top scoring teams win again

RB Breece Hall, a stalwart for the Rangers, was lost for the season with a torn ACL.

Jeff Lambert's Packers are leading the league in scoring, averaging 90.7 points a game. Chris Zimnoch's Recliners are right behind, averaging 89.7 points a game. The only difference for the two division leaders? The Packers (4-3) have to share first place with two teams. The Recliners (5-2) sit alone at the top of the Silent Division, a game ahead of the upstart Rangers. Speaking of the Rangers, the other big news of the day was the devastating injury suffered by RB Breece Hall, who is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL (after scoring 13 points!) against the Broncos on Sunday. Hall has scored in double digits in all but one game since Week 2 and was averaging 13.1 points a game for the Rangers, who should be seriously poised on the "Add a Player" button this morning to get a replacement. Hall's current backups? Chase Edmonds (who was benched in favor of Raheem Mostert) and James Cook of Buffalo, whose top game this season is 9 points, to go with two donuts, a 1 and a 3.

Here's a look at Week 7 results in the JSFL...

Recliners 89, Invalids 71: While Vern promised a biblical massacre here, it was just a typical game for both teams. The Recliners matched their scoring average; Vern's Invaiders (3-4) didn't win because his opponent scored more than 70. Same old, same old. The Recliners' balanced attack saw five guys scoring in double-figures, led by QB Lamar Jackson's 24. The skill positions accounted for the other four: RBS Saquon Barkley (16) and Joe Mixon (13); WRs Tyreek Hill (12) and Tee Higgins (10). The Invalids were led by RB Eno Benjamin's 19.

Packers 100, Gerbils 86: Who'd have thunk that Jeff would have drafted a Raiders running back? And that RB would be the guy to lead him to victory? That's exactly what happened this week as RB Josh Jacobs ran wild against Houston, scoring 33 points and, yes, he was the Leader of the Pack (4-3). Vroom, vroom. Ja'marr Chase continued his stellar season, scoring 25 more for the Packers. Chuck Nelson's QB kept him in this one: Joe Burrow led all scorers on the week with a 39 (481 yards passing, three TDs) and RB Austin Ekeler added 24, but the Gerbils (3-4) RB Josh Jacobs scored 33.

got only 1 point each from RB Leonard Fournette and the Bucs defense.

Rangers 94. Spread Beaters 82: Five guys in double figures led his brother Jeff's team to a win, and it also worked for John Lambert as the Rangers (4-3) rolled over the Spread Beaters (3-4) to move into sole possession of second place in the Silent Division. RB Travis Etienne led the team with 18. Hall scored 13 before his injury. The Cards defense scored 14 and K Justin Tucker added 13. QB David Carr scored 13. For Matt Pringle and the Beaters, playing without the Eagles QB for the first time this season (damn those bye weeks!), he settled for 18 from replacement Trevor Lawrence and got 28 from RB Kenneth Walker.

Saddles 83, Band Aids 77: The closest game of the week saw Blayze Hanson best father-in-law Bob Garcia to remain in a three-way, first-place tie in the ST Division. But it was only this close because of the Cowboys defense, which led the Band Aids (2-5) with 22 points. RB Aaron Jones paces the Saddles with 19, QB Justin Herbert added 18 and kicker Jason Sanders had 12. There was also brief sighting of Band Aids RB Zeke Elliott, who scored on two short runs and posted 17 points.

Rhamondre Stevenson, who scored 14 this week, has salvaged the Tirades season.

Tirades 68, Pillows 60: This was what we now call a "Vern Special" where the winning team doesn't break 70 points. The Tirades (4-3) looked at the ESPN app on Sunday, saw a whopping 15 points total, and promptly gave up on a victory over the Pillow Beaters (3-4). The Tirades had three positions put up a donut. Three! TE Kyle "Vanishing Act" Pitts caught three passes Sunday, but did not register a point. And no, he did not fumble. Three catches, nine yards. WR Michael Gallup was supposed to flourish with QB Dak Prescott's return. Nope. Two targets, zero receptions. The Jags defense also posted a zero, which was a better result than the alternative (49ers defense was -2 vs the Chiefs). But Matt Huey's team decided it wasn't going to do much scoring, either. And it came down to MNF and two Patriots players: TE Hunter Henry of the Pillows, who scored 1 on a single 16-yard reception; and RB Rhamondre Stevenson, aka The Savior of the Tirades, who scored 14. That was after Tirades QB Pat Mahomes lit things up in SF for 26 points to open the door for a comeback and Raheem Mostert kicked the door wide open with 16 in the Sunday night game against Pittsburgh.
