But, as those of us who have experience with the Swami, your mileage may vary
It was a tough week for the Swami, but he is back and looking to avenge things after now owing the bank $2,000 – he bet the house on that Spread Beaters game in Week 2 and got kicked in the nuts on that one. And on the Packers, and Band Aids. So, he would have just as much luck closing his eyes and throwing darts … which he might have done anyway.
ESPN thinks three teams – the Packers, Spread Beaters and Band Aids – are going to hit the century mark in Week 3, meaning it might be bad news for the Tirades, WTNE and the Rangers.
Only two teams – the Band Aids and WTNE – enter action undefeated and there is a chance that both extend that streak to three wins to start the season.
For planning purposes, the 49ers (yay, SF!) host the New York Giants tonight and two more games – the Eagles at the Buccaneers and the Rams at the Bengals -- are on the docket Monday.
WTNE (2-0) at the Spread Beaters (1-1), Beaters favored by 10: This could give this week’s winner the inside track to the Silent Division title. The Beaters hoped to waltz into this one undefeated but ran into the Blazing Saddles buzzsaw last week.
The Beaters come into this matchup with edges at RB2 (Brian Robinson over Rachaad White) and both WRs (Tyreek Hill and A.J. Brown) TE (T.J. Hockenson, and flex (Isiah Pacheco). WTNE has the edge at QB (Chargers) and RB1 (Christian McCaffrey). McCaffrey gets this tilt going early tonight at home against the Giants. The Beaters will find the scoring column this week. Take the Beaters and 5.
Tirades (0-2) at the Packers (1-1), Packers favored by 15: The Packers have the biggest betting edge and have the scoring edge at nearly every position (QB, RB1, WR2, flex and defense). The Tirades have to hope for a huge game tonight from Brock Purdy and Deebo Samuel. If those two don’t put up at least 40, this one is likely over. Take the Pack and 10.
Band Aids (2-0) at the Rangers (1-1), Band Aids favored by 8: Could the Band Aids really start unbeaten? God help us all. Bob Garcia holds the scoring edge at every position except WR (John has Justin Jefferson and Kennan Allen). Bob has two “questionable” injury tags on his two WRs (Amon-Ra St. Brown and Puka Nacua), so there might be some injury adjustments Sunday morning. Take the Band Aids and 2.
Recliners (1-1) at Gerbils (0-2), pick 'em: ESPN figures this one to be a 91-all tie, and the Swami has no clue on this one. Both QBs (Jacksonville for Chris and Joe Burrow for Chuck) have disappointed so far. Chris gets the edge at RB with Tony Pollard and Zack Moss, and Chuck gets the edge at WR2 (DeVonta Smith), flex (James Conner) and defense (Kansas City). Toss a coin and take the Recliners and 1.
Invaiders (1-1) at Blazing Saddles (1-1), Invaiders favored by 5: Most of the scoring edges lean the Invaiders’ way (QB, Baltimore), RB2 (James Cook), WR2 (Stefon Diggs), flex (Garrett Wilson), defense (Dallas) and the kicker (Chargers).
Blayze gets the edge at RB1 (Joe Mixon) and WR1 (Davante Adams). Take the Invaiders, and 4.
