Recliners stretch out to an early lead over cocky Invaiders, thanks to Browns backup

Chris Zimnoch's shrewd pickup of D'Earnest Johnson has erased any advantage Vern Ahrendes' team held onto going into their Week 7 clash

Browns third-string RB D'Earnest Johnson made the most of his spot start on Thursday against the Broncos, scoring two TDs and 22 fantasy points for the Recliners.

Recliners (even) vs Invaiders: This was a 10-point advantage for Vern on Thursday morning, but that was before Johnson ran roughshod all over the Broncos defense. Chris will need another Joe Mixon sighting on Sunday and some magic from TE Travis Kelce and QB Justin Hebert to pull this one off. Meanwhile Vern hopes for the usual from his high-scoring QB and and also hopes Leonard Fournette does not do a disappearing act. Can the Invaiders improve to an improbable 5-1? Nah. Recliners by 2.

Pillows (-10) vs Tirades: Matt Huey's team might be 1-5 but don't tell that to the Tirades, who are staring a second straight loss right in the teeth. With Dalvin Cook and Adam Thielen on a bye week, their hopes lie on KC's offense with QB Pat Mahomes and RB Darrell Williams (who looked pretty good in Week 6). Will Chumba Wumba Hubbard break loose? That could be the difference here. Huey is looking for a big day (surprise!) from his stud RB Derrick Henry, who's projected to put 22 on the board. If Seattle gets back on track against the Saints, that could be trouble for Matt's QB, but the only offense Seattle has stopped was in San Francisco. Pillows by 9.

Saddles (-9) vs Band Aids: The son-in-law is about to take the lumber to his father in law. Despite having half his starting lineup on a bye week, be prepared for Blayze to take over the lead in the ST division and tie Vern for the best record in the league. Bob needs a huge day from Aaron Rodgers to pull off an upset. Saddles by 12.

Packers (-9) vs Gerbils: There's good news for Chuck Nelson... his team is projected to score more than 50 points AND he's in Hawaii, so probably does not give a crap, but every team in the ST Division wants to beat the Packers and this week will be no exception. The troouble is that the Gerbils do not have enough horsepower to spin the little wheel in their cage fast enough to win this one, despite the fact that Jeff Lambert is going with Jimmy Garoppolo at QB. Packers by 6.

Beaters (-9) vs Rangers: John Lambert needed more from Melvin Gordon III than the 8 points he scored on Thursday to have a shot in this matchup. Matt Pringle is so confident he's started Corderelle Patterson at a RB spot. Beaters by 7.

Oh, and how about those Dodgers? They are close to getting tomahawk-chopped back to LA. But that was also true last year, and look what happened then.
