Congrats to the Spread Beaters... Again!

Updated: Aug 27

Matt Pringle, led by free agent pickup Kyren Williams, is the first back-to-back champion since commissioner Jeff Lambert accomplished the feat in 2007-2008

Kyren Williams scored 3 TDs against the Giants, leading the Beaters to another JSFL title.

The Spread Beaters, who went in as five-point favorites, are champions once again after taking their second consecutive title with a 30-point blowout win over the Band Aids in the JSFL Super Bowl last weekend. Leading the way was RB Kyren Williams of the Rams, who was a savvy free-agent pickup back on Nov. 16. Williams scored a game-high 27 points, almost the margin of victory. Not to be outdone, RB Isiah Pacheco, who was questionable most of the week, scored 22 and QB Justin Fields added 24.

"I owe this victory to my persistence on the waiver wire," Pringle said after the 126-96 victory. "Blowing off work each week from 9:45 to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays was essential to both of my championships. Sorry, boss."

Thankfully, the fucking kickers did not affect the outcome in this one: Beaters fucking kicker Brandon Aubrey had 11 points and Band Aids fucking kicker Justin Tucker scored just 8.

The Beaters also got 18 from the Jaguars defense.

For Bob Garcia's Band Aids, who had the best regular-season record at 12-3, QB Jalen Hurts had 18 points to lead a quintet that scored in double figures. WRs Brandon Aiyuk and keeper Amon-Ra St. Brown had 18 and 17 points, respectively; RB Kenneth Walker III scored 13 and flex WR Puka Nacua had 12.
